Position Overview
Responsible for representing and promoting Griffin Capital Investment Strategies to the Institutional Advisory Channel (IAC) utilizing a consultative sales approach with current and prospective clients within the Professional Buyer segment of the RIA market, Family Offices, Endowments & Foundations and Institutional Consultants.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
All areas of responsibility listed below are essential to the satisfactory performance of this position by any/all incumbents, with reasonable accommodation, if necessary. Any non-essential functions are assumed to be other related duties.

  • Identify best opportunities within selected geography to develop and execute consultative sales strategies that will maximize market penetration and increase client sales and loyalty.
  • Develop and deepen partnership opportunities within the IAC, implement a consultative sales process during interactions with clients/prospects to identify areas of opportunity within the Institutional Advisory Channel and follow up accordingly to present suitable solutions and close business.
  • Plan and execute branding and investment focused activities in coordination with IAC team members and investment teams, marketing and operations.
  • Partner with the IAC team, Marketing and others to ensure alignment of business strategy, capitalize on opportunities and overcome presented challenges.
  • Represent Griffin Capital at industry events.
  • Create and maintain a pipeline, effectively manage the CRM to track and account for sales opportunities and progress and manage needed resources and activity to close business.
  • Additional duties to be assigned.

Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Minimum ten years in a sales role covering the RIA or Institutional market.
  • Series 7 and 63 Licenses required. Series 65/66 preferred. CIMA, CPWA, CFP, CAIA and related industry designations a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong sales abilities are required, evidenced by a track record of increasing new business and developing relationships. Must be able to use appropriate interpersonal styles and communicate effectively and professionally, both orally and in writing, with all organizational levels to accomplish objectives and convince others to accept ideas or goals.
  • Strong knowledge of the Financial Services Industry and investment vehicles. Strong existing relationships with sales, business, product and research people among RIA market, Family Offices, Endowments & Foundations and Institutional Consultants.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of CRM systems; Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word and Outlook.
