Position Overview
The Senior Financial Reporting Analyst is responsible for assisting in SEC and other financial reporting compliance requirements, implementing external reporting initiatives, preparing external and internal presentations, assisting in technical accounting research, XBRL tagging, and implementing policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
All areas of responsibility listed below are essential to the satisfactory performance of this position by any/all incumbents, with reasonable accommodation, if necessary. Any non-essential functions are assumed to be other related duties.

  • Assist in preparing SEC filings, including 8-K, 10-Q/10-K, reviewing XBRL tags and proxy statements.
  • Coordinate, collect, challenge and understand financial information with various Real Estate team accountants so that issues are resolved and financial results are properly recorded and presented.
  • Complete quarterly/annually GAAP disclosure checklists.
  • Assist in various account fluctuation analyses.
  • Assist in footnote preparation.
  • Coordinate directly with the company’s SEC filing services provider as necessary.
  • Assist with updating of the process narrative for Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting and ensure compliance with all requirements.
  • Assist in preparing internal and external PowerPoint presentations.
  • Assist in drafting and maintaining internal controls over the financial reporting and related party process.
  • Assist with research on industry topics such as IPA, FINRA and NASAA requirements.
  • Assist in special projects and other duties as needed.

Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Minimum 3+ years of Corporate Accounting, Public Accounting, combination or equivalent work experience.
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university;
  • Basic knowledge of the financial services and real estate industry is preferred.
  • General knowledge of various accounting software and advanced knowledge of all MS Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Workiva.
  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) license is not required, but preferred.
